Allow Impermanence Into Your Life
Allow Impermanence Into Your Life
Good day, and welcome to my blog.
Yes, I'm trying my best to write more these days. Not because I want to be famous, but because some sense of duty is urging me to leave a few thoughts behind for future generations.
Mind you, I'm no sage or saint. I'm not a qualified psychologist or a PhD holder. I'm just an average Joe who has lived life to the fullest after 45 years of work.
Today, a thought flashed through my mind: I've changed. Again. Is it just me, or have we humans all changed — socially, morally, physically, and mentally?
Here are some new and different things I've been experiencing over the past eight months:
- I've lost the urge and habit to smoke
- I've lost my liking for beer sessions and alcohol (saves a lot of money!)
- I prefer solitude to socialising
- Nothing much excites me anymore
- I feel extremely contented
- Meditation and chanting have become my favourite activities
- I'm walking a lot
- Exploring new places on foot has become a new and interesting hobby
- Listening, observing, and trying to understand others more
- Using AI to learn and discover more about the world — home improvement, digital tools, and beyond
How about you? What have you noticed that's different in yourself recently?
I don't think it's depression or mood swings (although I am a Cancerian!). Life just feels different. Could it be the onset of wisdom as I travel toward 60, three years from now?
Impermanence, and learning to age gracefully, is the likely explanation — and I'm all for it (Read Chapter 6: "A Rolling Stone Gathers More Than You Know" from my book.).
What do you think?
Today is going to be our peaceful day.
