The power of your thoughts will change your life!
When you woke up today, what were your first thoughts?
Most often than not, people will think about the following:
- Work matters
- What to wear
- What to eat
- What to buy
- When should I learn a new hobby
- How to solve a problem
These days, most of us wake up and the first thing that we do is to check our social media platforms.
How many likes? How many views?
Who posted what?
Many years back I have said this line may times to my closest friends and colleagues at work, "I will exit from social media when I don't need to work anymore".
Now, for your information I am entering my mid-50s.
I am still working as a consultant for clients who need my creative skills in design, photography, event management, media management, public relations and brand marketing.
So, I do reach for my mobile phone and start scrolling to keep abreast of what's trending, and which brands and who's doing what.
That habit got me thinking one day, what else other than SOCMED should I do first thing in the morning?
For several years, I have been practicing the following:
- Meditation (Starts from 5.00am)
- Chanting of mantras (At least 3 Buddhist mantras)
- Journaling affirmations (I write my wishes and manifestations down in a book)
Looking back, I realised that I started chanting mantras first before I discovered meditation.
With both combined, I can safely say that I am awakened and more aware of both my mental and physical state.
The other thing that I occasionally do is to manifest what I want or to visualize or imagine my time in future with family, friends and colleagues.
To make this work, just remember to think good thoughts and don't allow negative visions to creep in.
To learn how to make your life more peaceful and harmonious, there are many insightful gurus and 'how to' videos that I have found on YouTube.
Of course, if meditation and chanting mantras is not your thing in the morning, go do some physical exercises. That's the best medicine for overall mental and physical wellness.
Try it or some other healthy and mindful activity and share your experience with me please. I always believed that I will never stop learning until the day that I die.
Prayers and blessings to all living sentient beings on planet Earth and the Universe.
Have a nice day beautiful people!
