The Covid-19 Pandemic Created Chaos In Business And Life In General.
But is it a blessing in disguise?
The majority may not agree with this opinion, but take a step back and reflect.
We all had to make changes in the way we live for more than a year.
Most of us lost business contracts, did not get paid by clients or to put it plainly, lost everything that we have worked hard to achieve.
Globally, the majority lost their jobs due to companies going bust or staff cutting exercises.
That was unavoidable.
We cried.
We lost sleep worrying about the uncertainty of the future.
We lost profits and earnings.
BUT WE ARE ALIVE!
I am thankful that I discovered meditation through a guardian angel.
It certainly helped and changed my perception on life.
I found peace, and I am still discovering what is inside me, my soul.
During this period of quiet solitude and reflection, it dawned on me (or made me realise) that we do not need many material things in our lives.
A change was happening to me.
There are (and were) many things I realised that I never needed to have in the past.
And, I wasn't alone as many of us humans have been slaves to a system that created a "need", "to buy that dream house", "own your dream car" and etc.
Deals weren't deals. The ad campaigns made you believe that you were getting "value for money".
Your sale was their profit.
It is not wrong though.
Business people have bills to pay to. We all had to make a living.
Most of us just want to clear our debts.
HOW DID WE ALL END UP IN THIS SITUATION?
But THANK YOU to the pandemic, there is a lesson to be learnt for all of us.
Stop craving, desiring and wanting.
Why, you may ask?
I have been privileged to have met many millionaires in my life who have been kind to me by sharing their experiences.
One warned me, "After you make your first million ringgit, you want three million more. Believe me, it never ends. I gave up chasing the money as the things I had to do or say to seemingly achieve this dream turned me into a toxic person."
Another shared, "I once wore branded underwear. Then I realised, who could see that I wore expensive underwear inside? I didn't need that and realised it gave me no happiness or personal satisfaction at all."
This were but some of the blessings of awareness that I have been given.
I have met people in the past that were more interested in what brand of watch or car that I drove.
What's so important? Is it because you want to own the same brand or something better than mine?
Here's a tip (or a few!)...
1. Buy only what your need and what is enough for yourself or your family.
2. Forget shopping for clothes that you don't need. You ain't no celebrity, and I know you have clothes in your closet that you never even knew that you had, or ever wore in years.
3. Shoes? You probably only need 2 or 3 pairs.
4. A car? Forget it... Grab is the present and future of travel. One day, it will be driver-less.
To end, here's a mantra you should practice: EARN ENOUGH, BUY ENOUGH, EAT ENOUGH.
Better yet, if you are able, GIVE AND SHARE TO THE NEEDY.
I pray that you be set free from the trappings of the world and be blessed with good health.
Om.........
