The universe showed me how wonderful being busy was on a special day
Where are all the young people to boost the workforce in Malaysia?
I suppose most are preferring to toil in the gig economy.
Everyone prefers to be their own boss it seems... no more SOPs or KPIs to adhere to.
For me at 52, I am just grateful to be employed after the end of my businesses due to the pandemic and a changed (or dead?!) world in the media, publishing, advertising and communications industry.
When you're given a lifeline, you have to make the most of it.
No matter how difficult, or ridiculously tiring it is.
Today was no exception.
Paperwork submission, monitoring of sales and SOCMED platforms, dealing with customer DEMANDS, crisis management, plus receiving visitors was part (or not!) of today's agenda.
And there is still an outstanding backlog of work to clear.
Managing people and ensuring that the company makes profit is not exactly a dream job at my age, but I can safely say this... I love every part of the challenge!
I rather work in an industry I know rather than take on an animal I am not familiar with.
But heck, nothing is permanent in life, embrace changes in your life!
I know the golf population is small.
I know spending habits have changed.
I know the pandemic has affected human behaviour.
But the wheels will continue to turn.
However, the inflation and recession, plus the war in Ukraine is not making things any better in Malaysia, or for the rest of the world.
I can only pray that people are free from suffering.
Thank you for reading and stay safe beautiful people.
Patrick Ho has been part of the Malaysian golf industry since year 2000. It is a miracle that he is back!
